Shri Sadhan Ch Mistry, agriculture lebour of 35 years at Hanspukur, West Bengal died on 13th April, 1971 of a minor ailment. Due to extreme poverty, could not afford any medical help. He left behind his illiterate and young wife, Subasini with 2- daughters and 2- sons of 2 to 10 years.
Naturally the family plunged into utter poverty and Subasini with her younger son was forced out of her home within one month of her husband’s death to work as maid servant and hotel boy. While she worrying about her children, she took a vow that one day she will build a hospital in that very village so that no poor would die for want of medical attention.
